Even after the arrest of iBomma founder Immadi Ravi, law enforcement agencies warn that the piracy threat is far from eliminated. A new website, reportedly titled iBomma-One, has surfaced online, raising concerns that remnants of the original network may still be active and attempting to revive the piracy ecosystem.
According to cyber crime officials, the new site bears striking similarities to previous iBomma mirror domains — from its layout and streaming pattern to its catalogue of newly released Telugu and regional films. Investigators believe the platform may have been set up by associates of Ravi or by external operators capitalizing on the temporary vacuum created after his arrest.
Experts from the anti-piracy cell have traced several suspicious domains linked to the emerging platform, indicating that more than 65 mirror sites might have been part of the broader iBomma network over the years. The resurgence of iBomma-One underscores the scale, sophistication and persistence of piracy operations, even when key operators are taken into custody.
Authorities have begun monitoring the new site closely, and steps are underway to identify its hosting infrastructure, administrative access points and financial backers. Cyber officials are also preparing to freeze digital wallets and international payment routes discovered during the initial investigation of Ravi’s network.
The film industry, already vocal following Ravi’s arrest, has expressed renewed concern. Producers and trade bodies are urging for faster domain blocking, stronger digital surveillance and coordinated international cooperation to permanently dismantle such piracy platforms.
The emergence of iBomma-One highlights the ongoing challenge ahead — even as one major figure is removed from the system, the larger battle against digital piracy continues.
